April favourites

April was full of cold days and online food and travel discoveries!

1. I had my fair share of asparagus this month, lots of client meetings and every lunch menu had 'asperges à la flamande' for a starter! Mustn't think about the cholesterol levels eating all those eggs...
A much lighter but mega flavoursome asparagus recipe I found on this blog: Faring Well's Asparagus millet salad with lemon and herbs It got top marks in my kitchen!

2. We didn't have many sunny days in April :( . I needed a vitamin D boost urgently and booked a plane ticket to Lisbon. More about this fantastic city soon, but already a sneak peek here: this hotel was top!

3. One day my blog is going to look like this: A Merry Mishap

4. Can't believe it took me this long to discover Orso's super thin and crusty gluten-free pizza!

5. The best cure for cold and miserable days: Netflix! I have been binge-watching The Crown and can't wait for season 2 to start. When, when , when? What is you favourite Netflix series at the moment?

6. I have been discovering interesting Instagram accounts again in April:
@careynotcarrie : some people just find the best names and then have the best photos too, it is not fair. Worth a look!
@bealubas : every photo is a little gem, one big source of inspiration from this British food photographer and stylist
@adelasterfoodtextures : the proof that food photography is pure poetry
@shebets : anybody traveling to Malta, go and check out this page first!
@100kitchenstories: this looks so good and healthy!

7. Millennial pink: how often do you see pink shades passing when scrolling through Instagram? Pink is everywhere! Who doesn't fall in love with blush pink sofas, pink Kitchen Aid tools, candyfloss shoes... the pink craze has even made it to the food aisles: read Refinery 29's article.
The ultimate Millennial pink interior is found at Sketch restaurant in London of course!

What is your favourite shade of pink?

8. Talking about pink: this is my latest kitchen crush: Le Creuset Sakura collection.

9. This book is taking my breath away: Benedict Wells, 'Het einde van de eenzaamheid'.

10. The Golden Mile: five cocktailbars in a row in Antwerp - I will be testing them out for you next month!
